SNAP REMEDY provides this Privacy Policy (“Policy”) to inform you of our policies and procedures regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information (“Personal Information”) and the data we collect, do not collect, store, and do not store, from users of SNAP REMEDY SERVICES (“SNAP REMEDY SERVICES”). SNAP REMEDY respects Users’ privacy, and is committed to protecting such Personal Information. This Policy addresses how we use SNAP REMEDY SERVICES as well as other third-party software and services (“Other Services”) in conjunction with your Personal Information to provide the services.
Information Collection
Personal Information means any information that may be used to identify an individual, including, but not limited to, a first and last name, company name, email address, telephone number, postal or other physical address, birth date, gender, occupation, a credit card number (including expiration ) to process payment for products, apps and/or services and such other information when needed to provide a service that you requested. Certain of our products and services also store connection or session information such as time/date and length of collection, IP address, chat logs and technician information.
There are various ways SNAP REMEDY SERVICES users (“Users”) can supply their Personal Information through SNAP REMEDY SERVICES and/or Other Services or otherwise to SNAP REMEDY.
When a User and a SNAP REMEDY SERVICES technical support service provider (“Expert”) share a support session, we may record all or parts of e-Support exchanges (including voice, email, chat and other communications during desktop sharing sessions), telephone calls and the related billing information (“Session Information”).
When you as a User receive services through SNAP REMEDY SERVICES, depending on the services you request, the Expert may have access to your Personal Information and Non-Identifying Information and in some cases your computer and whatever data is stored on your computer. For example, if you choose to receive technical support via a desktop sharing session you will be giving the Expert access to your computer over a network in addition to access to whatever documents, files and/or applications are accessible through your computer. You may also provide other diagnostic information to partake of services. Experts can see your profile at any time, whether during a support session or not.
As you use SNAP REMEDY SERVICES and/or navigate our site, certain anonymous information may be passively collected (that is, gathered without your actively providing the information) using various technologies, such as cookies, and navigational data collection (log files and server logs). Your internet browser automatically transmits some of this anonymous information, such as the URL of the SNAP REMEDY SERVICES you just came from and the Internet Protocol (IP) address and the browser version your computer or mobile device is currently using, and/or the date and time you access SNAP REMEDY SERVICES and the pages that you access while using SNAP REMEDY SERVICES. This information may be used for internal/external marketing purposes, to analyze trends and to improve our SNAP REMEDY SERVICES, products and services. We may also collect anonymous information from your computer or mobile device through cookies and internet tags or web beacons. You may set your browser to notify you when a cookie is sent or to refuse cookies altogether, but certain features of SNAP REMEDY SERVICES might not work without cookies.
Choice/Opt-In
You can elect to opt into receiving direct marketing or market research information. If you have Opted-In, this means we assume you have given us your consent to collect and use your information in accordance with this Policy. You may opt out at any point in time. Opt out is the means by which you give us, or decline to give us, your consent to use your Personal Information for the purposes covered by the opt-out choice. Cookies and Tracking
A "Cookie" is a small data file that SNAP REMEDY SERVICES and/or Other Services may write to your hard drive. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. A cookie file can contain information such as a user ID that SNAP REMEDY SERVICES and/or Other Services may use to track the pages you've visited, but the only Personal Information a cookie can contain is information you supply yourself. A cookie can't read data off your hard disk or read cookie files created by other SNAP REMEDY SERVICES. Other Services and/or SNAP REMEDY may also use cookies to track user traffic patterns. This may be done in order to determine the usefulness of SNAP REMEDY SERVICES and to see how effective our navigational structure is. You may accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, however you can modify your browser setting to decline cookies. Please note however, that turning off cookies may adversely affect SNAP REMEDY SERVICES’s and/or Other Services’ functionality.
In addition to cookies, SNAP REMEDY SERVICES and/or Other Services may use a variety of technical methods for tracking purposes, including web beacons. Web beacons are small pieces of data that are embedded in images on the pages of SNAP REMEDY SERVICES. SNAP REMEDY and/or Other Services also use/s these technical methods to analyze traffic patterns.
Information Sharing & Disclosure
Unless you opt-in, SNAP REMEDY will not transfer your Personal Information to third parties, except we may transfer your Personal Information without your consent to the extent required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (i) conform to the edicts of law or comply with legal process served on SNAP REMEDY or SNAP REMEDY SERVICES; (ii) protect or defend the rights or property of SNAP REMEDY; (iii) act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety, property, or privacy of SNAP REMEDY's employees, users of SNAP REMEDY's products or service, or members of the public; or (iv) affect a transaction, restructuring or proceeding that transfers to a third party the assets or line of business to which the information pertains. If you choose to provide us with your Personal Information, we may transfer that information within SNAP REMEDY or to SNAP REMEDY's third party service providers with your permission. In addition, SNAP REMEDY may send your Personal Information to other companies or people under any of the following circumstances: when we have your consent to share the information; we need to share your information to provide the product or service you have requested; we need to send the information to companies who work on behalf of SNAP REMEDY to provide a product or service to you (we will only provide those companies the information they need to deliver the service, and they are prohibited from using that information for any other purpose); or we want to keep you up to date on the latest product announcements, software updates, special offers or other marketing information we think you'd like to hear about either from us or from our business partners (unless you have opted out of these types of contact).
Changing or Deleting Your Information
All Users may review, update, correct or delete the Personal Information in their account profile by contacting us. If you would like us to delete your record in our system, please contact us and we will strive to accommodate your request as quickly as possible if we do not have any legal obligation to retain the record. Data Security
Your Personal Information is protected for your privacy and security. SNAP REMEDY safeguards the security and confidentiality of the data you send us with physical, technical, and managerial procedures. Please be aware that, despite our best efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. While we strive to protect your Personal Information, we cannot ensure the security of the information you transmit to us, and so we urge you to take every precaution to protect your personal data when you are on the Internet. Change your passwords often, use a long combination of upper and lower case letters, numbers, and non-alpha-numeric characters, and make sure you use a secure browser.
International Transfer
Your information may be transferred to - and maintained on - computers located outside of your jurisdiction, where the privacy laws may not be as protective as those in your jurisdiction. SNAP REMEDY and/or Other Services may transfer Personal Information across the United States and/or Canada and process and/or store it there. Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to that transfer.
Business or Asset Transfer or Sale
SNAP REMEDY may be sold, might sell or buy businesses or assets of businesses, or SNAP REMEDY might merge with another business. Normally, in the instance of such transactions, User information is one of the transferred business assets. In the event that SNAP REMEDY, a line of business of SNAP REMEDY, or substantially all the assets of SNAP REMEDY are transferred as part of such a transaction, your information may well be one of the transferred assets. SNAP REMEDY will make reasonable effort to provide notice on SNAP REMEDY SERVICES and to notify you via email to the most recent email address that you have provided to SNAP REMEDY of any such change in ownership or control of your Personal Information.
Governing Law
This Agreement shall be interpreted, construed, and governed by the laws in force in the Province of Ontario, Canada, without reference to its conflict of laws principles. Subject to the Arbitration section below, you agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Ontario and to waive any objections based upon venue. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods shall not apply to this Agreement.
Arbitration
Except where prohibited by applicable law, any controversy, claim, or dispute arising out of or relating to this Agreement, your use of any SNAP REMEDY service (including but not limited to the Site, your account, and the Expert Services) will be referred to and finally settled (to the exclusion of the courts) by private and confidential binding arbitration before a single arbitrator held in Toronto, Ontario in English and governed by Ontario law pursuant to the Arbitration Act, 1991 (Ontario), as amended, replaced or re-enacted from time to time. The arbitrator shall be a person who is legally trained and who has experience in the information technology field in Canada and is independent of either party. Any such claim shall be arbitrated on an individual basis, and shall not be consolidated in any arbitration with any claim, controversy, or dispute of any other party.
Protection of Minors
Children under the age of 13 are not permitted to register for, or use, SNAP REMEDY SERVICES.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
If SNAP REMEDY decides to make material changes to our Privacy Policy, we will notify you and other users by placing a notice on snapremedy.com or by sending you a notice to the e-mail address we have on file for you. You should periodically check snapremedy.com for updates.
